Artist Statement

I am part of the Perth Art Group but with my busy life I don’t get to create as often as I would like. By The River was painted as a reminder of the glorious early mornings along the Swan River in Ascot, Perth. As an artist I wanted to recreate the still mirror that the water projects, using oil on canvas. I loved working on this piece, adding texture and colour, light and shadows.
