Artist Statement

My paintings follow the principles of Neo-Impressionism, specifically the technique of Divisionism. I rely on optical mixing to bring the scene into focus for the viewer only once they step back from the canvas, transforming a collection of abstract marks into a coherent, luminous impression. My drawings however, have no obvious lines within the drawing, yet the viewer is able to feel the presence of drawing techniques and skills.
