Artist Statement

“Anna Lehtmets is an Estonian-born artist now based in Perth, whose creative journey has been shaped by living in 10 countries and exploring over 50. Her art is deeply personal—an ongoing exploration of self, identity, and emotional freedom. Still in search of her artistic voice, Anna embraces experimentation with boldness and curiosity, working mainly with oil and acrylic while exploring mixed materials. Her work reflects the many sides of her inner world, often guided by the expressive power of her inner child and the dialogue between her different inner selves. This makes her art diverse, intuitive, and emotionally rich—ranging from expressive female figures to abstract explorations of contemporary themes. Anna also shares her passion for painting through step-by-step group classes for beginners, creating safe and playful spaces for others to reconnect with their creativity. As part of the Ellis Art House community, she’s excited to exhibit more of her work and continue evolving her artistic path.”
